Girona - Costa Brava Airport is an important airport with regard to both  tourism and commercial/industrial aviation as it is situated close to the Costa  Brava, the Pyrenees, and the cities of Gerona and Barcelona which lie 10 and 85  kilometres away, respectively.

Due to the arrival of low cost airlines and cheap airfares, Girona-Costa Brava has enjoyed  spectacular growth in recent years, with passengers reaching the four million. In 2007, it dealt with 4.848.619 passengers, 45,282 flight operations and 234 tonnes of cargo.

The Costa Brava or wild coast has a series of breathtaking views made up of stunning landscapes as the sea and mountains meet in a rugged coast of small bays and steep cliffs.

Barcelona, Spain’s second largest city should not be missed by anyone who visits the area. It is the Capital of Catalonia which offers a wealth of history, art and culture. Barcelona is a very stylish city with an international feel and relaxed Spanish atmosphere.  Not to be missed is a stroll along Las Ramblas which is Barcelona’s most famous street which links the Port with the Plaza de Catalunya.  The Gothic part of the city is a maze or streets  and squares containing many cafes, bars and restaurants.
